ISR uses an innovative approach designed to teach both the verbal and non-verbal infant survival swimming skills. The program uses precise safety protocols to ensure the safest possible lesson. ISR students are taught to perform survival skills independently in the water.

What Your Child Will Learn
6 months to 12 months
A baby 6 months to 12 months will learn how to hold their breath underwater, roll onto their back and float unassisted until someone rescues them.

1 year to 6 years
A child over the age of 1 year will learn how to hold their breath underwater, swim head down, roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe; then roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool and crawl out. This is called the ISR Swim-Float-Swim sequence.

All children will learn how to perform the skills in different types of clothing.

Class Structure
Lessons are held 5 days a week, Monday – Friday.
Each class will be no longer than 10 minutes with just one child and me in the water. Much is accomplished in these short but very intense private lessons. Your child will have the same 10 minute time slot each day of the week. Rollback to Float takes an average of 4 weeks to learn, while the Swim-Float-Swim sequence takes an average of 6 weeks to learn.

Through ISR, you will give your child the survival skills needed along with the lifelong enjoyment of recreational swimming.
